  • Moderately Enhances Surface Tone with Gloss Finish
  • Provides Water, Salt, Stain & UV Protection
  • Bonds Joint Sand to Reduce Sand Loss
  • Promotes Easier Cleaning & Maintenance
  • Breathable, Immediate Application Water Based Sealer

SB-7000 Joint Stabilizing Sealer is a water-based, single component, self-crosslinking acrylic co-polymer sealer and joint sand stabilizer with outstanding durability. This product can be used inside and outside, on old and new pavements, sealing the surface and stabilizing joint sand at the same time. It can be applied immediately after paver installation, as it is breathable and will not trap the naturally occurring efflorescence. SB-7000 will also protect the surface from salts, acids and other corrosive chemicals as well as help to provide easier maintenance and to minimize overall surface weathering and deterioration. SB-7000 is non-hazardous and exceeds all VOC/EPA standards. SB-7000 has the consistency of water and is milky white in appearance when applied and then dries clear, creating an enhanced look with gloss finish. SB-7000 is a single application product. Cured sealer is freeze resistant to -60°F (-51°C) and is stable up to a temperature of 180°F (82°C).

Joint Stabilizing Sealers can be used just as a sealer for pavers, concrete and other masonry surfaces without joint sand stabilization.

Suitable Surfaces

Ideal for concrete and clay pavers, decorative or plain concrete, masonry, natural or manufactured stone, unglazed tile and terrazzo.

A test area is always recommended to determine product suitability and compatibility with your specific surface before use and also if desired results are achievable. Due to the inherent variability of natural stone and clay products, long term performance may vary. Please consult with us prior to sealing if there are concerns.

SB-7000 Helpful Information

Preparation

TEST FIRST on a small inconspicuous area to determine the suitability and if desired results are achievable with this product on your specific surface.  The surface should be thoroughly clean and free from oil, dust, loose material, and previously applied sealer other than SB-7000 prior to sealer application.  If needed, prepare surface with Surebond Cleaners before sealing.  Thoroughly rinse all cleaner residue prior to sealing.  Allow the surface to dry for a minimum of 24 hours after cleaning and/or rain before sealer application. For optimal joint stabilization, the paver joints should be no more than 3/4″ wide and filled with dry, correctly graded jointing sand that meets the ASTM C144 standard. The top level of the sand should not exceed the bottom of the chamfer or 1/8” below the surface on non-beveled or tumbled paver surfaces. Compaction is recommended after sweeping sand into joints to minimize voids in sand joints. Use a vibratory compactor for concrete pavers and a rubber hammer and piece of wood (2”x4”) for natural stone to seat the joint sand into the setting bed. A leaf blower is recommended to remove dust, debris and fine sand particles from the surface. Cover/protect nearby landscape, vehicles, and buildings from overspray during application.

Application

Apply when day and night temperatures are between 40°F – 95°F. Avoid windy conditions to keep sealer spray from drifting. NO pre-blending or mixing required. Do NOT dilute.  SB-7000 should be liberally and evenly applied to the surface with a siphon pump, bulk sprayer or a hand-held garden sprayer. Use product coverage guidelines to determine the amount of material required for the project; material coverage will depend on the surface type and its porosity. Saturate the surface to ensure proper penetration and use a squeegee or foam roller to provide uniform coverage of sealer over the entire surface area. For stabilization of sand joints of interlocking pavers, flood pavement surface and allow enough time to ensure sealer penetration throughout the entire sand joint. With a squeegee or a foam roller, remove all excess sealer from the surface of the pavers and joint areas working over the entire area to ensure uniform coverage of the pavers with sealer. SB-7000 is a single application product. Re-applications may need to be carried out every 3-5 years depending on exposure. NOTE: Excessive applications can cause surface to become slippery. Application of this product is out of the control of SEK-Surebond. Application steps should be followed completely and accurately. Should a problem occur with this product, SEK-Surebond limits liability to product replacement only. Buyer assumes all risk and liability resulting from the use or misuse of this product.

Dry Time

Surface will be dry to touch within 60 minutes assuming 65-85°F at 50% relative humidity. Low surface or air temperature and or high relative humidity will extend dry times. Protect the surface from dust, rain, condensation and traffic while drying. Area can be open to foot & vehicular traffic in 24 hours depending on site conditions. Full cure in 7 days under normal conditions.

Clean Up

For tools and equipment, use soap and water before product is allowed to dry.
